Hardware Engineer

Location:  Head Office

Mobile Complete is a rapidly-growing, profitable startup that is pioneering the use of user experience management in mobile product lifecycles. Our unique Direct-To-Device™ technology foundation enables "virtualization" of mobile handset devices through an electrical integration approach in which electrical connections are made to LIVE handsets and a virtual view of these handsets is exported over the Internet. Mobile Complete’s proprietary software acts as a virtual user; remotely controlling and operating the devices, pressings keys using electrical signals, listening to ringers and speakers using audio capture and streaming, and viewing LCD displays using video capture and streaming.


This electrical integration approach is unique in that it is device, OS, platform, and application agnostic, making it capable of supporting all handsets from all manufacturers, running any operating system and platform. Our customers include some of the biggest Mobile Operators, Handset Manufacturers, Wireless Service and Content Providers in the industry. Mobile Complete’s Main Corporate Office is located at the Heart of Silicon Valley in San Mateo, California. Additional Sales offices are maintained in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

We are currently looking for talented jr. to mid-level hardware engineers to expand our Device Production Group. The hardware engineers will be responsible for reverse engineering mobile handset devices, with an emphasis in video signal translation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Discovery of video signal processes for mobile handset devices targeted for the consumer market by multiple manufacturers
  2. Independent research and analysis of a wide range video signals for device integration
  3. Documentation of the discovery techniques and procedures
  4. Training of line technicians on new procedures after discovery
  5. Analysis and repair of post production Mobile Complete Devices

 Requirements:

  1. BS in Electrical Electronic Engineering  or related discipline
  2. Knowledge of embedded systems, especially hardware interfaces
  3. Familiarity with C++, Java and SQL
  4. Ability to debug hardware to component level
  5. Fine pitch soldering and rework skills
  6. Familiar with lab equipments such as DMM, Oscilloscope, Logi Analyzer, and Signal Generator

 Additionally Desired Skills:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  2. An interest in puzzle-solving would be an advantage
  3. Must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, a quick leaner, hard working, easy to work with, and always willing to help
