Mobile Complete [www.mobilecomplete.com] is a fully-funded Silicon Valley startup that is developing technologies to facilitate the mobile content industry by providing access to devices over the internet. Our customers are the leading names in the mobile content and service provider space. We are currently looking for a business analyst/product manager in our San Mateo office. Product Manager This position will be part of the product team, responsible for authoring detailed product requirements. You will work closely with product marketing, solutions, sales, and customers to understand customer needs and business objectives. You will be responsible for translating these objectives into requirements, and will work closely with the development and QA teams to ensure that they are correctly implemented. Creativity and excellent problem solving skills are essential in this role; Mobile Complete is constantly striving to bring new and innovative products to the market – therefore the requirements you write will often be unique to the market. Additional responsibilities include:
- Working with other internal teams as well as external customers to gather requirements (support teams, sales, solutions, etc.)
- Working with development to ensure adherence to business requirements and detailed specifications
- Creatively solving UI issues and suggesting efficient ways to present data and/or take customers through work-flows
- Conducting requirement document reviews with all stakeholders
- Independently doing research on similar products and functionality to determine best practices for implementation of new features
- Managing the source control of business requirements documents and formal project documents
- Managing the project by tracking and reporting high-level status
- Working with QA teams to ensure test plans cover all possible use cases
- Thinking of new features and products that we should be building
Requirements:
- BS in information systems or computer science, or similar function; additional job experience and/or non-degree courses in computer systems studies may substitute
- Knowledge and understanding of software development processes and technologies including web-based architectures, database architecture
- Experience with web usability best practices; skilled at creating UI mock-ups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Familiarity with mobile industry and mobile devices, or strong interest
- Experience writing requirement documents for software products
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- 1-3 years experience in a similar role
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on Mobile Complete’s current product line, and start adding to it
